SVS Living Safe becomes RISE

Today, SVS – Living Safe is changing its name to RISE: Respect, Inspire, Support, Empower.  

These four values and attitudes underpin who we are and the work we do.  While we remain committed to family violence prevention, this does not define us. Our vision is greater.

We seek to create a culture of respect between people. We are all members of whānau, employees in workplaces, participants in social and sporting activities, and part of a community and a nation.

To us, RISE is about knowing that we all deserve to be the best people we can be. It is a privilege to help members of our community see that this is possible.  

Thank you to our staff, who embody the values of respect, inspiration, support, and empowerment each day. Thank you to our community partners and funders who support us. Most importantly, thank you to the clients we serve who trust us with some of the most difficult parts of your lives; we will always treat you with respect and work with you to empower you in your lives.

I’m honoured to be part of this organisation’s journey to this point and forward.
