Lotteries funding commitment in RISE continues

The Lottery Grant Board has continued its investment in RISE with a renewed grant of $80,000 over the next two years. This is an increase in support over prior funding contracts and we are delighted to know that Lotteries will back our work into the future.

Adults, youth, and children all benefit from the Lottery Grant Board’s contribution because funding covers delivery of all services. We specifically use it to support the Dads Programme and our various children’s programmes, alongside training, resources and support for staff salaries.

And once again we are thanking a funder who has made a multi-year commitment to us. As most NGOs and non-profits know, long term support is critical to be able to plan for the future and meet our strategic commitments to the community. Lottery Grant Board understands this and recognises the value in giving us certainty to meet the increasing need for family violence specialist services. As the only specialist family violence organisation in the top of the South focusing on helping people who use violence, their investment is being put to particularly good use; when we help those who use violence learn to change their behaviours, we start to address root causes of generational violence.

General Manager Dee Cresswell says she appreciates the strong relationship she has with the Lottery Grant Board because they rely on a Nelson-based DIA team.
